How to organize transport of wedding guests?

22 March 2016

Planning the transport of wedding guests is a task that requires a bit of effort. What should you do to make sure they can easily reach the place of the ceremony and reception?

First of all, never wait with booking transport for the last moment – in the high season it may be necessary to book two or three months before the planned ceremony.
At the very beginning, count how many guests will use the transport you provide. Don't wait for them to ask, but go ahead and ask each of them individually.
If you are planning an intimate wedding, a bus or minibus will be sufficient – such vehicles are able to accommodate from about 8 to 40 guests. On the other hand, if you are organizing a larger party, hire a bus or a coach, which can be provided by both companies responsible for public transport vehicles and private transport companies.

Pay special attention to guests who live in another city and do not know the area. It would be a good idea to send them a driving map or attach it to an invitation. You don't want to miss the first hour of the wedding on explaining how to get there;)
Consider appointing one person who will be responsible for helping guests. It can be your wedding witness or a close friend. Make sure that each guest has their phone number to that they can call in the event of problems with getting there.
